Exploring aquaculture in Chausey: paddle away!

Granville

Alban, an oyster farmer, and Ian, a fisherman and kayak guide, will take you to find out all about aquaculture in the exceptional setting of the Chausey islands.

Starting in Granville, hop on board the fishing boat “La Grande Ancre”, and set sail for the eastern part of Chausey, with its wild islets: the perfect spot for a picnic! As the tide goes out, you’ll discover the mussel beds in a two-person kayak (suitable for beginners). At low tide you’ll head off on foot to explore the oyster and clam beds, before kayaking back to the boat for the ride back to Granville.

Kayaking with Mont Saint-Michel as a backdrop

How about kayaking for a new way to discover the bay of Mont Saint-Michel? You’ll explore the bay, the cliffs at Champeaux, the nearby beaches and the Dragey dunes. A fun family excursion that’s accessible to all, guided by Ian and Nicolas. The departure point is the beach in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas or the Sol Roc slipway, depending on the tidal coefficient. You’ll paddle along the coast, with stunning views of Mont Saint-Michel. If you’re lucky, you might see some seals!

Sea kayaking to explore the treasures of Chausey

From the water, observe the flora and fauna typical of this gem in the Manche. Frédéric and David, your guides for the day, will take you sea kayaking to explore the different islets of the archipelago. You’ll stop in different spots to admire the unique landscapes. This excursion is suited to more advanced paddlers with experience of sea kayaking.

Canoeing on the River Sélune: a unique experience

TRY PADDLEBOARDING OR KAYAKING IN LA VANLÉE TIDAL INLET

 Starting from a meander of La Vanlée tidal inlet, enjoy a fantastic paddleboarding experience as you travel through this exceptional natural area. You will be accompanied by Gaël, your guide, who will show you the tidal causeway, the rivulets and the inlet, all from the water. This outing (round trip) is around 5 to 7 km log. It is also possible by kayak.
