Surville harbor is the smallest on the west coast of the English Channel. This estuary is of undeniable landscape interest, with a large dune mass offering a diversity of environments. these include lawns, wet depressions, thickets and conifers. Added to this is the daily variation of the landscape due to the effect of the tides. The site is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including amphibians, shore swallows, wild celery and frankenia.
