Rocky Cateret Headland looks over Hatainville Dunes, offering an exceptional vantage point from which to view the Channel Islands. High on the headland’s plateau, heathland covered with yellow-flowering gorse is home to the bright and furtive Dartford warbler, while the raven and the peregrine falcon amuse themselves around the steep-sided schist and sandstone cliffs where the annual rock rose grows. At the lighthouse, recently restored low dry-stone walls help preserve the site and guide visitors along the cliff tops of the Côte-des-Isles.
