Regional Nature Reserve

The Regional Park of Cotentin and Bessin Marshes spreads over 27000 hectares of marshes and reclaimed land, creating a typical bocage landscape. Its meadowlands are grazed by cattle or mown for hay, criss-crossed by ditches and punctuated with peat bogs. These characteristic wetlands stretch from one coast of Cotentin to the other, from Veys Bay in the east to Créances Dunes in the west... With the abundant rains of winter, the marshes become almost white with water, reminding Cotentin of the island it once was. Discover the animals, flowers, landscapes and architecture that make this region unique.
