An echo to the lives shared between the land and the tide.
For several years now, Paul d?Amour has been going out to meet people and give them a voice in song. These adventures have given rise to the Neno & Tala label and the "Nos" collection.
After a first volume entitled Nos prisons, which recounted the fate of seven prisoners, Paul d?Amour set out to immerse himself in the world of Cotentin fishermen.
Accompanied by Pierre Luquet and Florent Vintrigner, from the group La Rue Kétanou, and double bassist Marc-Antoine Schmitt, they wrote and composed an original repertoire based on discussions and anecdotes gleaned from fifteen or so fishermen from Omonville-la-Rogue, Cherbourg-en-Cotentin and Fermanville.
Themes covered include the port, factory ships, bad weather, the lives of sailors? wives and the man at sea. Fourteen stories set to music, lulling us to sleep and evoking the people of the sea, guardians of the memory of a profession and of Normandy?s maritime culture.
