Join us on January 31 at 8.30pm at the Saint-Lô theater for the show "100 mètres papillon" by the Colette collective.
In 100 Mètres Papillon, the text is based on the real-life experience of a top-level swimmer. It tells the story of Larie, a young boy who develops a passion for swimming. Learning to "tumble", discovering the glide, his relationship with the water, training and its violence, the competition and the strangeness of its rituals, the races, the defeats, the questioning, the siren song? Is a coach like a conductor? A stage director? Does the musicality of a stroke create a movement that carries the actor on stage? All the facets of this practice are sources of fiction that involve and engage the body. What had become routine now generates unexpected, burlesque, monstrous, unpredictable characters on stage.
The aquatic universe that deprived Maxime Taffanel of speech has become speech in motion through the experience of the stage. The experience of all these limits, inherent in the practice of sport, opens up a space for expression. That of theater.
