Exposition "Shadoks" - Planétarium Ludiver

No one can resist a dose of fantasy and offbeat humor, sprinkled with tangy colors.
That's what Jacques Rouxel's Les Shadoks are all about. Retour vers le Cotentin, exhibitions and a fresco presented at 4 sites in the Cotentin region between April and November 2023.
These drawings have been woven into our pop culture since the 60s, and even today, their special conquest of space continues to seduce.
But did you know that these mythical characters come straight from the imagination of a local boy?
Jacques Rouxel was born in Cherbourg and spent his youth between the United States, Paris and Anse du Brick. This Fermanvillais at heart settled near Port Lévi, where he also enjoyed observing the locals from the sea.
To pay tribute to him and introduce his work to younger generations, the Agglomération du Cotentin and the Ville de Cherbourg-en-Cotentin both wanted to showcase the Shadoks. In consultation with the elected representatives of the various communities, they naturally joined forces to harmonize communication on this project across Jacques Rouxel?s home territory.
