Flooding and drought, water conservation, waste and pollution, mega-basins and dams... Water is a resource whose management is the source of numerous agricultural, political, environmental and economic conflicts. The short- and medium-term stakes are not only local, but also national and international. We urgently need to rethink priorities between different uses, to preserve quality and ensure quantity.
Two guests for this evening:
- Thierry Burlot, President of the Loire-Bretagne Water Agency and President of the Cercle Français de L'Eau, will address the subject from a qualitative and quantitative perspective, with the challenges amplified by global warming. He will also discuss the interests and limits of water law.
- Arnaud Clugery is operational director of the regional association Eau et Rivières de Bretagne. This association, which sees itself as a ?bellwether?, makes raising awareness of environmental issues a priority in order to persuade people to adopt a concerted approach and avoid violent conflict.
The evening will be hosted by :
- Jean-Yves Dagnet, film director and lecturer. He is an expert on agriculture, its history and challenges. He has also worked extensively in the fields of the environment, water, waste and landscapes, as well as urban and rural planning and development. He has made numerous films in France and abroad, and collaborated on several exhibitions for the Écomusée du Pays de Rennes.
The evening will be devoted to discussion with the audience.
Participation free of charge.
