From Hauteville-sur-Mer to Gouville-sur-Mer: beaches and walks near Agon-Coutainville

The seaside resort of Agon-Coutainville is also ideally situated for getting to other nearby beaches. Hauteville-sur-Mer beach is perfect for families. There are lots of watersports on offer there and lifeguards on duty.

A bit further on, the beach in Montmartin-sur-Mer is lovely too. Every summer, the “Chauffer dans la Noirceur” festival is the unmissable cultural event on this stretch of coast.

The unmissable lighthouse here, with its red lantern, watches over the boats. Situated on the GR®223 hiking trail, the Pointe d’Agon-Coutainville is a great place for walking. You might find you’re accompanied by some saltmarsh sheep as you go along!

Regnéville-sur-Mer

Opposite the Pointe d’Agon-Coutainville, the village of Regnéville-sur-Mer is a unique place that’s packed full of character, with pretty little cottages.

Nestled in the heart of the Sienne inlet, the tidal harbour in Regnéville-sur-Mer is a witness to its maritime past. A walk through the peaceful old fishing village is like stepping back in time.

Don’t miss the ruins of the old medieval castle, where local markets are held in summer. Do you want to try an adventure in the great outdoors? Then head off with a guide to cross the Sienne inlet and discover its flora and fauna.

Oyster bars near Agon-Coutainville

For a meal with your friends in a relaxed atmosphere, try a plate of oysters with a nice glass of wine at La Belle Ostréa in the centre of Agon-Coutainville. Do you prefer other types of seafood? Then tuck into some Chausey clams.

In Blainville-sur-Mer, Les Huîtres du Père Gus is well worth a trip. It’s the perfect place for a tasty treat in a laid-back setting. You’ll find this eatery in an old oyster farming hangar right next to the beach. If the weather’s good, you can sit on the lovely terrace as you sample oysters produced very close by, between Blainville-sur-Mer and the Pointe d’Agon-Coutainville, as well as prawns, whelks and seafood rillettes.

A taste of childhood

Then try La Sucette Chaude, where the ice creams, waffles and home-made sweets will be a big hit with the whole family, taking grown-ups straight back to their childhood!
